What will your child do at Springboard Schools all day? Each center and age group is a little bit different. While infants make their own schedule, the older children have a slightly more structured day. A few main components for the older children are:
Group Time: This part of the day brings all the children together to greet each other and the day. It can be a time to hear a story, practice a skill, share songs and stories, introduce the weather, classroom jobs and more.
Table Activities/Free Choice: Children can work throughout the classroom at a table or tables of their choice. In our Reggio Emilia inspired classrooms, the materials are accessible to the children during this time and their imaginations are the limit. They can choose to work on builders, create art, engineer a tower, work with clay, observe nature outside the window and more.
Outside Time: Each center is equipped with a different type of playground. The children go out twice a day to run around, play tag, use their imaginations and more. Infants are regularly brought out for buggy rides so that they may also enjoy and observe the outdoors.
Lunch: We serve a variety of healthy lunch and snacks each day. Connect with your director for the lunch and snack schedules.
Rest Time: All the way through Pre-Kindergarten, our children rest after lunch. This is a great time for the babies to nap and the little ones to recharge their batteries with a short nap or quiet time on their mat.
Enrichment and special activities:
We love to give our students new opportunities inside and outside the classroom. Enrichment takes many forms as each program evolves and caters to the interests of the current students and families.
Some of our enrichment opportunities include: Dr. Can-Do Science, fitness, dance, Soccer Shots, gymnastics, yoga, Scholastic Book Fairs, hop-a-thons and trike-a-thons, Music and Movement, Swim and Gym and special holiday festivities like our halloween costume parade.
Especially in the summertime, our centers can be a busy place of hosting shows and going on field trips. Places we have visited in the past include: the town beach, bakeries, Butterfly Place, the local parks and libraries, post office, fire station, Kimball’s, local ponds and conservation land.
We also love partnering with local talent to bring special events to the kids and regularly host puppet shows, magic shows, animal shows, drumming shows, tumble bus, touch-a-truck and more.
